DV Warriors defeat Minisink Valley in holiday tournament

— Delaware Valley High School (Westfall, Pa.) defeated Minisink Valley High School (Slate Hill, N.Y.) in boys varsity basketball on Wednesday, Dec. 28. The final score was 48-33.
The game was part of the two day 40th annual Milford-Matamoras Rotary Stephen E. Faller Holiday Basketball Tournament that concluded on Dec. 30. Delaware Valley High School hosted the tournament. Other participating schools included Kittatinny Regional High School, Minisink Valley High School, Valley Central High School, East Stroudsburg Senior High School North, and Notre Dame Junior/Senior High School.
Tyler Smith scored 12 of his 15 points in the second half in a non-league win in. Shane Acoveno scored 13 points for Delaware Valley.
Richie Cummings scored 11 points to lead Minisink Valley, which trailed 22-17 at halftime.
In the championship game on Friday, the Delaware Valley Warriors defeated the Valley Central Vikings (Valley Central High School, Montgomery, N.Y.), 42-38.
Also on Wednesday Valley Central High School defeated Notre Dame Junior/Senior High School in a boys varsity tournament, 52-34.
