Milford - While Pennsylvania bear hunters are on pace to set a new harvest record for the three-day statewide season, Pennsylvania Game Commission is reminding bear hunters that they have another week to take a bear in northeaster areas of the state including Pike County. This year’s extended season will run from Nov. 28 to Dec. 3, in Wildlife Management Units: 3B, 3C, 3D (which includes Pike), 4C and 4E, in northeastern Pennsylvania. This season is concurrent with the first week of the two-week rifle deer season. For more information, hunters should consult the 2005-06 Pennsylvania Digest of Hunting and Trapping Regulations, which comes with each hunting license. Maps of the management areas are also found in the digest. Bear licenses had to be purchased prior to the opening day of the firearms deer season, Nov. 28. Visit the Game Commission website, (www.pgc.state.pa.us). for information about license purchases and upgrades.
