WESTFALL - The March 24 season-opener for the girls soccer team culminated in 5-0 victory over East Stroudsburg South. Michele Kolenet scored four of the goals for Delaware Valley; Tori Martin also contributed a goal. Kristin Mottle had three assists, and Sam Morgan had one. A win was also secured in the Junior Varsity game with a score of 1-0. Alyssa McCarthy had the lone goal which was assisted by Danielle Quirk. Junior, Sam Morgan commented, “We were really excited to start off our season, especially with a home game. We felt we’d improved since last year, and it was good to beat a team that came back in the second half to tie us last year. I think overall our passing and skills have improved and I’m looking forward to the successful season that we have ahead of us.” See “photos” at www.pikecountycourier.com for more DV sports photos.
