Pocono Mountain Panthers pull off come-from-behind win over warriors

— Pocono Mountain West High School defeated Delaware Valley High School in girls varsity basketball on Monday, Dec. 7.

The final score was 45-32. The game took place at Delaware Valley High School in Milford.

Delaware Valley came into this contest fresh off a season debut win (44-22) against East Stroudsburg South Senior High School (Monroe County). This was Pocono Mountain West's first game of the season.

The Delaware Valley Warriors controlled the tempo during the first two periods. Delaware Valley had a nine-point lead over the Pocono Mountain West Panthers by half-time. The score was 21-12. But Pocono Mountain West came out shooting going into the third period.

Pocono Mountain West got hot while Delaware Valley cooled considerably. And with a few foul calls going their way the Pocono Mountain West Panthers slowly clawed their way from behind. By 7:43 in the fourth quarter, both teams were locked in a 29-29 tie. The Pocono Mountain West Panthers eventually pulled away and sunk the Delaware Valley Warriors.

Briann Hall and Monet Field scored 15 and 11 points, respectively, to help pull off Pocono Mountain West's come-from-behind win.

Stefanie O'Grady and Jenna Pacella scored 9 and 7 points, respectively, to fuel Delaware Valley.
