WESTFALL - The aisle parted down the middle school gym as hundreds of DV students watched the 2005 Homecoming Queen candidates enter. Each of the eight girls nervously awaited the Saturday announcement which came minutes later. Due to the rainy weather the queen was not announced during the homecoming football game, as in previous years. “This year’s homecoming queen is Brooke Giannini” the DJ said. Teary-eyed, Brooke embraced her mother as the gymnasium cheered. Giannini was crowned by the 11/12 principal, Joe Casmus. She was soon greeted by the Homecoming King, Anthony Sirico. The “King of Legs” was announced the night before at halftime and the five candidates collectively raised $1,000 which will be split between the Wayne-Pike Shrine Club and Milford’s G.A.I.T. theraputic riding program.
