Tristate Chamber announces race results

PORT JERVIS — Even under the threat of rain, a healthy turnout participated in the 5K and 10K races held Sept. 18 in Port Jervis, sponsored by the Tristate Chamber of Commerce.
The 10K portion was won by 22-year-old Derek Lake of Pine Bush, N.Y., who finished with a time of 33:16; followed by Lee Toussaint, 51, of Milford, who finished second overall with a time of 38:16.
The race committee included Amador Laput and Robert Schultz, Tom Smith, Debbie Valentine, Linda Hannigan, Robie Mackerley, and Deb Cassara. Volunteers who worked the event included the Port Jervis High School National Honor Society and their advisers, and Tri-State Chamber Directors and Ambassadors.
