State prepares for swine flu
HARRISBURG As the Courier went to press, the Pa. Department of Health was reporting one probable case of swine flu in the state, but no confirmed cases. The probable case was reported Wednesday afternoon. Symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to those of regular human flu: fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with swine flu. To avoid the flu, health officials say the most important tip is to wash your hands. Try to stay in good general health. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food. Avoid touching surfaces that may be contaminated with the flu virus. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Visit http://www.dsf.health.state.pa.us/health/ or http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/ for updates.
