Story times at the library
Fall programs for the little kids MILFORD Story time is happening again at Pike County Public Library in Milford. Children ages birth to 5 are invited to sign up for one of three different programs designed for different age groups. For each of these programs the library asks that you do not bring food or beverages. Registration is required in person at the Milford Branch or by calling 570-296-8211 for all Milford programs, and in person at Dingman Township or by calling 570-686-7045 for all Dingman Programs. Baby Story Time Baby story time is being held for the younger crowd for those not yet walking on their own, approximately up to age one. They will participate in stories, songs, and rhymes all designed to build brain power and foster a love of reading and libraries. Babies will have fun interacting while the adults get to know other young families. This program will take place on Tuesdays from Oct. 13 through Dec. 1, from 11:15-11:45 a.m., at the Milford Branch. Toddler Story Time One and two year olds who are successfully walking independently are invited to attend an action-packed program with their caregiver. They will enjoy stories, sings, movement activities, and rhymes designed to boost brain power and foster a love of libraries and reading. This program will take place on Tuesdays from Oct. 13 through Dec. 1, from 10:15-10:45 a.m., at the Milford Branch. Preschool Story Time Children ages 3-5 are invited to attend a special story time at the Milford Branch of PCPL. This six-week program will take place from Oct. 14 through Nov. 18, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Children will enjoy stories, games, and crafts, as well as meet other kids their age. At the Dingman Township Branch of PCPL, preschoolers will read stories, make crafts, and make friends! Caregivers may register their child for one or all six of the following programs: Oct. 12 and 27 at 10:30 a.m.; Nov. 4 at 2:30 p.m.; Nov. 8 at 2 p.m.; Nov. 17 at 10:30 a.m.; and Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. Safe Haven’s Interactive Puppet Show Attend Safe Haven’s Interactive Puppet Show at the Dingman Township Branch of PCPL. Cindy Stine, Educational Outreach Coordinator along with Pike County RYOT (Rallying Youth Organizers Together), Safe Haven’s Youth Leadership Group will be addressing how “Hands are not for Hitting.” Children ages 5-10 will learn information and gain awareness that violence is never okay. Children will be able to participate in role playing.
