Street sign contest results

| 29 Sep 2011 | 04:13

In the issue of Sept. 11, we asked you to guess the locations of several street signs, all of which are located in the tri-state, N.Y., N.J., Pa. area. There were in some cases, like street names that appear in other places, but the correct answers needed to be the ones that we photographed. Of the entries we now have from all nine StrausNews newspapers, only Sparta (N.J.) Independent reader Alexa Kawicka and Advertiser South reader Kim Bennett of Franklin, N.J., correctly named all the roads. Photo News reader Denise Trinkle of Monroe, N.Y. was the only entrant to name six of seven roads and also is a winner. No one else correctly named more than four of the roads. The correct answers were: Alley Lane, Sparrowbush, Town of Deerpark, Orange County off state Route 97 Wits End Road (the one we photographed) is in Hamburg, Sussex County, N.J. Purgatory Road, is in the Town of Goshen, Orange County, N.Y. Lois Lane, (the one we photographed) is in Monroe, Orange County, N.Y. No Name Boulevard, Walker Lake, Shohola Township, Pike County, Pa. The Drive, is in Westtown, Orange County, N.Y. Hulse Lane, (the one we photographed) is in Chester, Orange County, N.Y. Please note: We have named our winners from the entries we have on hand. However, due to a computer issue, we have lost some of the entries. These may have included some emails, entries provided on an interactive Web site form, or others who used our blog space to guess locations and did not provide contact information. So, if any reader who feels that his or her correct entry was lost, please send us your mail/shipping contact information so we can award your umbrella.
