Student wins art scholarship

WESTFALL - Brigette Indelicato of Dingman’s Ferry has been selected as to receive a merit scholarship of $64,000 over four years while studying graphic design at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia. Moore College is the first and only women’s art and design college in the United States and is dedicated to excellence in educating women for careers in art and design. Each year, Moore presents the Visionary Woman Award to a special individual or individuals who have made significant contributions to the artistic community. Most recently, the Visionary Woman Award was presented to internationally acclaimed artist, Faith Ringgold. In the spirit of this award, Moore now recognizes newly accepted students whose academic and artistic potential demonstrate the potential for great success in the visual arts. Brigette is one of seven students selected out of a pool of over forty nominees. Brigette is a senior at Delaware Valley High School and will graduate this year with a GPA of 3.8. Throughout her high school career, Brigette has been involved in numerous sports and extracurricular activities including girls soccer, swim team, school newspaper, and Odyssey of the Mind. In art, Brigette has earned both Silver and Gold Keys in the Regional Scholastic Art Awards for the past two years and first place in the Pennsylvania High School Computer Fair for her graphic design pieces. She has placed third at the state level for PTA Reflections in the visual arts category. Brigette is the daughter of Joseph and Kerry Indelicato.
