Students attend Pre-med Day

WILKES-BARRE - Delaware Valley students attended the eighth annual PreMed Day on Sept. 29, where they participated in tours of Wilkes University Science Laboratories. They were actively involved in labs that included biology, chemistry, physics, pharmacy and geo-environmental sciences. They also listened to a lecture by a member of the Wilkes faculty, Dr. Linda Gutierrez, who is the Saidman Chair in Health Sciences, and is currently an Associate Research Professor in the Biology Department. Students in attendance were seniors Jamie Hood, Adrian Sirko, and Ashley Cahill, juniors were Ryan Jameson and Patricia Grieco. The day concluded with a panel of representatives of doctoral health professions including allopathic and osteopathic medicine, dentistry, optometry, podiatry, and veterinary medicine. The representatives described their profession and discussed qualifications for that profession.
