Students give of themselves

WESTFALL This spring, Delaware Valley High School sponsored the 30th annual bloodmobile. Once again, the drive was very successful. There were 169 students registered to donate blood out of which 141 were first-time donors. The drive gained 138 productive units of blood, exceeding a goal of 130 units. This amount of blood will potentially help the lives of 414 people. Special thanks goes to Sue Briggs, HOSA (Health Occupations of America) teacher, and her HOSA students who helped out at the blood drive and to the Family and Consumer Science classes from DV, who made dozens of delicious chocolate chip cookies. The Westfall McDonald’s also contributed cups, napkins and juice for the donors. The American Red Cross staff was complimentary of the students, saying that they were terrific kids who behaved in a very mature manner.
