Swine flu seminar at Wellness Center program

    MILFORD — The Milford Health & Wellness Center will host a family friendly event on Saturday, Sept. 26 to address health and wellness issues for Pike County residents. The event will literally have something for everybody, including an opportunity to win a Nintendo Wii gaming console and the Wii Fit program. David Mattes, M.D., director of the Newton Memorial Hospital Emergency Department and Milford Urgent Care, will host a special seminar at 10 a.m. on the H1N1 virus. He will discuss with attendees information you may not know about the virus and what you can do to protect yourself. Newton Memorial Hospital will have information available on physical medicine, diabetes education and nutrition advice as well as information on the Charles L. Tice Heart Center for Diagnostic Services and its catheterization lab. The public can also view CPR demonstrations, check out the new CT scan and learn how to properly operate an Automated External Defibrillator. And the American Red Cross will also be on-site accepting blood donations. All members of the public are welcome to attend this free event and will have a chance to win the Nintendo Wii game console and Wii Fit to encourage healthy living.
