Those black bears are back in town
MILFORD At 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, the Black Bear Film Festival will host its annual Teddy Bear Picnic at the Old Lumberyard Shops, on 7th Street in Milford. This rain-or-shine event is the official unveiling of this year’s crop of Black Bears, inventively designed and crafted by local artists both professional and amateur. Following the unveiling, which includes free brownies and lemonade, the bears will be placed around town, to be enjoyed in the weeks leading up to the festival on October 8th-10th, Columbus weekend. The bears will be at the Delaware Valley High School, home of this year’s festival, throughout the festival weekend, and they will be auctioned off after the final film has been screened. Among the highlights of this year’s festival will be the appearance of legendary MGM musical star Marge Champion.
