Three injured in Sunday car crash
DINGMAN Officials reported three members of a Milford family were seriously injured Sunday at 7:30 p.m., in a one-car accident. According to state police at Blooming Grove, driver Melissa Devito, 23, struck a tree after swerving and losing control in an attempt to avoid a deer in the road. Police said Devito’s husband, Michael Devito, 26, and their 3-year-old son, Michael were ejected from the vehicle upon hitting the tree. Their other son Joshua, 18 months, remained strapped in his car seat and was not injured. Victims were airlifted to the Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown. Melissa Devito suffered head injuries, her son Michael had lacerations to his back and neck, while his father suffered extensive internal injuries. He was said to be recovering the hospital’s intensive care unit. Milford firefighters responded to the scene on state Route 2001 near Cliff Park Road.
