Township evicts county

MILFORD — Making good on their promise, the township supervisors Monday ordered Pike County to remove its recycling bins from the township premises on US Route 6/209 within 90 days . The township has been awaiting the appearance of a county spokesman to explain Pike’s future recycling plans since early July. The move came despite a letter from Chief Clerk Gary Orben, who apologized and explained that the recycling manager’s vacation and commissioners’ conferences had caused the delay. In pressing the motion, Chairman Don Quick was skeptical about any employee vacation lasting six weeks. The county has also failed to respond to Milford’s ongoing query about Pike’s plans for the Santos Farm property.
