Vandalism at Hernandez campaign headquarters

Dingmans Ferry Vandals hit the campaign headquarters of Ileana Hernandez in Delaware Township during the weekend of Oct. 20. Three bags of dark mauve paint were thrown at the headquarters sign out front, and splashed across the driveway and mailbox. State police were called to investigate, a Hernandez statement said. Property owner Kathy Cancellino discovered the damage upon returning home on Sunday. She noted that this was the second time the property had been vandalized. “Two weeks ago,” she said, “it was dirty diapers thrown all over the lawn.” Other than cleanup by volunteers no other action was taken. “We assumed it was just kids,” said Cancellino adding, “but this is different.” Hernandez Republican opponents called the vandalism reprehensible in a statement about the incident. “It’s disappointing to see something like this happen. We are appalled at the vandalism of the Hernandez campaign headquarters. This is absolutely reprehensible to do to anybody or any campaign. Commissioner Forbes and myself are for the prosecution to the fullest extent of the law on whomever committed this crime.” said Commissioner Richard Caridi. “We respect one another as individuals, friends and colleagues. Lets do our county proud and help select the best possible people to office by keeping on the high ground,” said Commissioner Harry Forbes.
