Virginia man sentenced for indecent exposure
MILFORD A Virginia man, Robert Speidel, 42, was sentenced on Sept. 10 in Pike County Court of Common Pleas to serve not less than 6 months to 23 months in the Pike County Correctional Facility. Speidel previously entered a guilty plea to one count of Indecent Exposure. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Sarah Lavelle. Speidel admitted that on June 30, 2008, on Interstate Highway 84 in Pike County, he was driving while exposing his genitals and masturbating in plain view of the driver of another vehicle. Speidel was visiting the area at the time. The Pennsylvania State Police located Speidel the next day on the interstate highway. When imposing sentence, President Judge Joseph F. Kameen, noted that Speidel was arrested for several other instances of similar behavior and granted leniency by courts of other states over the past ten years. Lavelle stated that “the Pennsylvania State Police at the Blooming Grove barracks did an excellent job tracking down Speidel and we are pleased with this sentence which holds Speidel accountable for his criminal behavior.”
