Cool new items in goodie bag Milford — With only a few days before the event, local businesses recognized the hard work put forth by the Milford Enhancement Committee and donated some really great items for not only the silent auction, but also the goodie bag. This year’s event will be held at the home of Lee and Sonda Miller, The Governor’s Retreat in Dingmans Ferry, on Saturday, June 21 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Reservations are $50 per person and can be made by calling Katrina at 570-293-2333 or online at www.milfordpa.us/mec. Altec Lansing, one of the area’s largest employers, donated InEar Buddies Jack earbuds from their MUZX line which includes a “buddies” feature that lets your friends plug in a second pair of earphones and listen to your music at the same time. Other great items in the goodie bag include truffles from Anna’s Candy Kitchen, cookies from Just Add Sugar, Milford Mud (coffee samples) from Kaffeine & Kitsch, gift certificates to Bodhi Bliss, The Craft Show, Upriver and Gallery on Seventh, and copies of Buzz Arts Guide, Milford Magazine and Our House magazine. With an attendance of more than 200 expected, this year’s event will be full of old friends and new faces. The Milford Enhancement Committee Welcome Party Committee would like to thank this year’s sponsors; Community Rental Centers, Newton Memorial Hospital/Milford Health & Wellness Center, Thompson Creative, Biondo Investment Advisors, Davis R. Chant and Woodloch Pines. We would also like to thank this year’s gracious hosts, Lee and Sonda Miller. Proceeds help fund the Milford Enhancement Committee’s on-going streetscape improvement work, including landscaping, sidewalks, curbs and historic-style pedestrian lighting. The Welcome Party is organized by several co-chairs— Deanne Connelly, Amy Eisenberg, Katrina Foster, Will Foster, Arnold Green, Elena Quinn and Lori Strelecki —as well as a Host Committee, which is presently in formation. Make your reservations now for the coolest party of the year and see for yourself why everyone is saying, “Ok, Cool!” The Milford Enhancement Committee was formed in 1997 by volunteers interested in making Milford a better place to visit, live and do business. Their work has resulted in a dramatic array of improvements with even more now in the planning stages . Funded by more than 1,000 individual supporters, including property and business owners, as well as private foundations and state and federal grants, the MEC’s fiscal sponsor is the Historic Preservation Trust of Pike County, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
