The annual “Word Wars” competition was recently waged at the Delaware Valley High School. “Word War” is a vocabulary competition in which students compete in the areas of spelling, parts of speech, definitions, synonyms and antonyms of the words. Approximately 100 word warriors competed at the ninth and tenth grade levels, with one winner for each grade. The 9th grade winner was Kathryn Braisted, daughter of Patricia and Jeffrey Braisted of Shohola. She is pictured above with her English teacher, Miss Clementoni. In the sophomore competition, Anthony Fragola, son of Paula and Guy Fragola of Milford won first prize. He is seen below with his English teacher, Mrs. Baillie. (Contributed photos)
