About the library
This letter is in regard to the Pike County Public Library, which after a century has out grown its space in the Community House. As the county seatm the main facility of the library should remain in Milford with branches elsewhere. I grew up in Milford and now live here as a retired senior. My mother was a friend of Dorothy Warner and as a child I remember her as a warm charming, cheerful, good-humored lady with appreciation of tasteful style. I am concerned that the use of her generous gift of $1 milliom be used in a manner that would be a proper tribute and honor to her. Now as a community we seek our new facility. It is my opinion that the open space on Harford Street, across from the Community House affords a park-like setting for outdoor study. A one-story white-frame building should be built on this location, large enough for the collection and rooms for study and research - a place for youth to study and learn and all to maintain and enjoy. This space has the additional advantage of ample, same level parking. That is my opinion. Cecile Santos Weissang Milford
