Budget crisis continues

I am writing in reference to the ongoing budget battle in Harrisburg. September is now here, and our legislators and governor have failed to fulfill their constitutional duty to pass a budget. Politics as usual continues in Harrisburg among both parties, and yet, we still lack one quality among the ranks of our commonwealth’s government: leadership. This budget battle demonstrates a growing problem in Harrisburg as well as in Washington. Politicians remain more focused on their own selfish agenda rather than representing the very people who sent them there. As Pennsylvanians we need to put pressure on both parties to work together to promote real solutions for the people of our great commonwealth. Republicans and Democrats continue to fail us in our state capitol. There is no time for partisan politics or partisan solutions, we need nonpartisan leadership. I hope a commonsense budget will soon get passed in Harrisburg. Even after we have a budget, which I do believe will be unfavorable to the needs of the people; I still fear there will be little change in Harrisburg. It’s time to elect a new era of representatives, ones who won’t soon forget who they are meant to represent. Harrisburg has plenty of politicians, next year we should all vote to give it some leaders. Jonathan T. Tallman Honesdale
