Double standard

To the editor: I find the choice of your front page photo, Friday Dec. 1 ,2006, in very bad taste. You showed a “macho” guy in front of his truck wit a big TV purchased at Wal-Mart. I also see the “macho” guy showing about 4 inches of his colorful underwear. The reason I am calling attention to this distasteful photo is the double standard we keep perpetuating. Had it been a girl showing her underwear, she most likely would have been arrested for indecent exposure. She would been called a slut and in the unfortunate case that she was raped, people would have said, ”she was asking for it.” The photo in question was taken by Nick Troiano, who is a very fine young man.
