Friends: thank you and a problem

I am writing to express my thanks to your newspaper for publishing our article on the October bus trip to Mystic Seaport. Thanks to the publicity, we have almost filled the bus for what promises to be a beautiful mini vacation. The profits from the bus trips go to a fund to support our struggling Library branches in Pike County. This is one way that the Friends of PCPL raise money to help our Library system. Running the twice yearly book sales was another lucrative means to that end, since we have been yielding about $5000.00 per sale in recent years. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are losing access to the place where we sort and store the many donated books for our sales. Sadly, this means, we will have no further book sales. For decades, the Spring and Fall book sales have been a tradition in Pike County. Both the volunteers and the customers looked forward to the events. The book sale on September 11-12 may be the last.
