Goldman Sachs - too big to subsidize
| 29 Sep 2011 | 04:17
Why is Goldman Sachs still allowed to continue being designated as a bank holding company, allowing it almost free access to billions of dollars of taxpayer money?. It is no longer in trouble and making record profits. Goldman was allowed to use this designation so it wouldn’t fail and to benefit Main Street in the long run. Well, they made record profits, and Main Street continues to suffer. With discussions on how they will spend $20 billion in bonus payouts, not only should the designation be removed, but they should be forced to pay back interest on all the money they borrowed.
