Kudos for Bon Secours
I recently had a two week stay at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, N.Y. I had double pneumonia and recovery was longer than usual. My stay would have been unbearable had it not been for the wonderful caregivers I encountered from various departments and job descriptions. By the second week I was so impressed that I began looking for someone with a bad attitude, a complainer, gossiper, or just plain lazy. I never found one. Instead I witnessed respect and teamwork toward each other, and kindness and caring to my roommate and me. These exceptional people work under the hardest and saddest of conditions. They get out of a warm bed, get into a cold car, travel a distance in order to care for sick and suffering people. They do it with energy, kindness, humor, and grace. All over the hospital are signs “Committed to Excellence.” My experience tells me they are. Linda Zimmer Milford
