Kudos for Milford folks

Our school’s honor society, the Minisink Valley Middle School G.A.T.E.S. Club (Gifted And Talented for Experience and Service) would like to express our appreciation for the great day we experienced on January 31 in Milford. First we met up at the Pike County Historical Society’s Columns Museum where Mrs. Denny Wagner gave us a tour. As our docent, she taught us about the Lincoln Flag, about the oddities of this wonderful Victorian mansion, and about the various exhibits. We all learned so much from her great presentation. Then we so much enjoyed the Winter Lights Festival. We would like to extend our appreciation to Mr. Tom Holmes for inviting us and to Michael and Mary Carson as well as the festival’s sponsors, such as Chant Real Estate, for producing this great event. It was so beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the Arm of the Sea Puppet Show in Good Shepherd Church. Thank you, too, to Pike County Arts and Crafts (Mr. and Mrs. Murphy, especially) and the Borough of Milford for giving us hot chocolate, apple pie, and cupcakes in Borough Hall. We also enjoyed the shops and restaurants in Milford and the skater Jordan Hartey and the choir from DVHS. It was a memorable day for all of us, both fun and educational, and one that we will never forget. We greatly appreciate everything Milford did for us on this field trip with our parents and teachers. You have a very, very cool town! Students of the Minisink Valley Middle School Slate Hill, N.Y.
