To the Editor:
Perhaps you have seen local residents with clipboards in your neighborhood lately. They are working to ensure that Pike County residents have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote in upcoming and future elections. Regardless of the party in which individuals actually register, the Pike County Democratic Committee is registering new voters, believing that ALL Americans should be able to vote.
If you are not registered to vote in Pennsylvania, you can also come to the Pike County Democratic headquarters in Milford at 511 Broad Street. Volunteers will ensure that your registration is submitted to the Board of Elections in Pike County. The deadline for registering to vote is Oct. 11. The office is open weekdays and weekends.
“Voting is a right and a responsibility for all citizens,” noted Rachel Buchan, Hillary campaign representative in Pike County. “We are pleased to help make this possible for everyone in Pike County.”
Rachel is coordinating an active volunteer effort in Pike Country in support of Hillary Clinton’s election, as well as for the McGinty, Molesevich and other Democratic candidates’ campaigns.
“We have been encouraged by the outpouring of enthusiastic volunteers to do telephoning and door-to-door canvassing— building up to a major 'Get out the vote' campaign as we get nearer to Nov. 8. This election is incredibly important for the country and the world,” Buchan noted.
