Election Day in Pike County

Readers in Pike County shared their Election Day experiences on the Courier’s Facebook site under the article “Higher-than-usual turnout at Pike’s polling stations,” published online Tuesday evening and in the current edition.

Debra Schneider: Other than the racist comment about our current President, from one of the Trump people as we were leaving, it was not a bad experience in Milford. Oh and also other than the nasty remarks about our Hillary buttons from waitresses and postal employees which are not good for local business and possibly not even legal from a government employee. This has been an entire campaign of they go low, we go high, from the disappearing Hillary signs, to the screaming outside the Hillary HQ. I am proud of the campaign my fellow Democrats have run. I want to live in a United States where I can be proud of my President and other elected officials, and where they work for all of us and we all work together to make this a better world. Love trumps Hate.
Joshua Sandor: Wheres your proof of all this??? It’s easy to say on facebook. Honestly Trump signs have been stolen in much larger numbers . And thats just silly. And you’re not helping anything by claiming Trump supporters are racist, i can say with actual evidence that blm is racist based on fact. You are just assuming the guy voted trump. You say you take the high road but really there is no high road.
Debra Schneider: Proof is I work at the office that put them out and within days they were gone. Everyone came in asking why we had no signs out. I am sure some Trump signs may have gone missing, too, but all ours on the 3-lane were gone. So no, not Facebook, it was personal experience.
Susan Rounds Drewett: I was in line for almost an hour this morning at 7:05 they said there were over 200 people in line before the doors opened!
