I can understand the people who voted for Trump, except...
To the Editor:
I can understand the bigot voting for Trump.
I can understand the so-called Christian who voted for Trump to impose their beliefs on those who think a woman should have a choice about their health issues or not give rights to the gay community.
I can understand the people who are so afraid that they will be the victims of terrorism, even though they have more of a chance of being struck by lightning, or shot by a toddler, or dying from furniture falling on them. Our government has made it their business to keep you afraid to justify endless wars for control of other countries' resources and chip away at our liberties.
I can also understand those who are intolerant of other faiths voting for Trump or who believe the gun lobby, which would allow the insane to own guns.
I understand the hard-working people who are upset that some people abuse the system. Well, guess what, they are not all on welfare. Some of them are billionaires.
But what I really can't understand are those who voted for Trump because he ran as a Republican. You have truly disappointed me. You should have known better. You have lost my respect.
I could not vote for either major party candidate, so I didn't. You could have done the same.
