Instead of working with Democrats, the GOP is sabotaging health care

    To the Editor:
Now that the GOP has failed to offer any replacement plan for the Affordable Healthcare Act (after having seven years to work on it), we have to ask Senator Pat Toomey and Representative Tom Marino the following questions:
Why are you so desperate to save the federal deficit, save taxes for the super rich, but not save the lives of your constituents by offering them affordable healthcare? Instead of saving Medicaid “on a sustainable fiscal path” (Senator Toomey’s words), save people’s lives instead.
All industrialized countries have universal health care. As the richest country, why can’t we?
USA’s infant mortality rate is 6.1 per 1,000, ranks behind all 27 developed nations. Does this not bother you?
USA spends $9,451 per capita on health care, more than any other country. USA life expectancy is 78.9 years, ranks 31st in the world. Does this make sense to you?
Instead of working with Democrats to come up with solutions to give everyone affordable health care, the GOP is sabotaging it. In trying to kill Obamacare, the GOP is actually killing their constituents by denying them access to health care. The GOP is more concerned with the profits of insurance and drug companies than the lives of ordinary citizens.
