It's a grand old flag Local organizations salute the Red, White, and Blue
American Legion Post 254 of Honesdale held its Flag Day ceremony at Veteran's Park on June 14 in conjunction with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 1.
The Scouts built the flag bier and conducted the ceremony. The American Legion furnished the rifle team and performed the rifle volleys.
Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.
Post 254 meets at the Chamber of Commerce building, at 7 p.m., on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
