To the editor:
Our lives just became easier with the passing of the inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Now 13 million American families insured by the Affordable Care Act will be able to save up to $800 yearly with lower premiums.
Our drugs will be more affordable now that Medicare can negotiate for lower prices. No more cutting pills in half to last twice as long. No more telling our pharmacist that we can’t afford to pay for our prescriptions.
Medication costs will be capped at $2000 yearly. Can you imagine what that will mean to a cancer patient paying $1000-$1200 monthly for chemotherapy? This is life changing.
I support our Democratic candidates that fight to improve our quality of of life. We all deserve the right to affordable healthcare.
