Pike Dems keep up the action against Trump

To the Editor:
A group of our club went to the Scranton Toomey No-Show Town Hall and were on local print and TV media.
Now we have six actions for Drumpf's sixth week:
1. Oppose PA Senate Bill 10. It will penalize every county in Pennsylvania if they do not hold a released prisoner for 48 hours after their official release date pending clearance from U.S. Immigration, Customs, and Enforcement. The Senate already passed it. This would be true even if the person turns out to be a U.S. citizen. Please call our State Reps and tell them to oppose this bill:
PA State Rep Mike Peifer (R), 139th District — all Pike County except Delaware, Lehman, Porter townships (reppeifer.com)
Tel: 570-226-5959, Fax: 570-226-5955
PA State Rep Rosemary Brown (R), 189th District — Delaware, Lehman, Porter townships (repbrown.com)
Tel: 570-420-8301, Fax: 570-420-8304
2. Download the app "5 Calls" — call Congress every day. (Wake up, brush teeth, cup of coffee, call Congress.) Don't let our elected officials forget who they work for. 5 Calls will dial the number for you, and even give you a script of what to say.
3) Once a month, visit the office of your elected official. Again, remind them they work for you. (Our contact team will tell you when the next visit is scheduled.)
4) Support Jon Ossoff (endorsed by Rep. John Lewis) who is running in the first competitive Congressional race of the Trump era in Georgia to take the seat of Prior who is now overseeing the repeal of Obamacare. Flipping this seat would be a key victory. A win here would be a devastating blow to Trump's agenda.
5) Take back your government — run for office here in Pike County. For a full list of Pike County positions up for election in 2017, go to: http://www.pikecountydemocrats.org/content/2017-contested-offices. For tips on running for office, visit http://www.pikecountydemocrats.org/running. Petitions are due March 7.
6) Get under Drumpf's skin — use social media to share all the shameful and embarrassing things connected to him — expose the emperor has no clothes (nor brains nor sanity). Our next get-together Wednesday, March 15, 6-8 p.m., at The Patisserie, 403 Broad St., Milford. We will have a speaker from Planned Parenthood to educate us. Like us, Planned Parenthood tried to find Toomey too. We will have postcards (or bring your own) for the IdesOfTrump. Also, bring your donations to help refugee families. Buy items online: It's easy, go to Amazon Wish List.
Our Wednesday, April 12, 6-8 p.m. meeting will feature a rep from the ACLU speaking about their legal challenges in PA.
