Stump City USA!
Milford currently has 50 stumps located in various sites around the Borough. They are unsightly and need to be removed as soon as possible or we will deserve to be called Stump City USA, indeed!
Once the stumps are removed, young trees can then be planted nearby. In this way renewal of our Tree Forest can take place, and our legendary tree-lined streets will thrive for the next generation.
The Tree Commission hires a contractor to do a "lot-removal" of the stumps. This means that as many stumps as possible can be removed each day of work. The contractor will use a stump grinder to grind the stump 3 iches below grade level. This way the cost-share expense between the Tree Commission and property owner can be kept to a minimum.
