The Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center posted the following on its Facebook site on Sept. 30:
"THANKS to the PA Game Commission for upping the penalty for killing a bald or golden eagle from $200 to $2,500. The penalty went down when the bald eagle recovered sufficiently to remove it from the endangered/threatened species list. That doesn't make it okay to kill one and today, the PGC backed their beliefs with action. Good job to those who protect our wildlife! Send them a THANKS."
