To the Editor:
The most recent school board meeting held some startling revelations for anyone paying attention. Statements were made by our board president and other members that were particularly troubling, such as what seemed like their blatant disregard for the personal liability consequences of violating the Department of Health mask mandate, as well the consequences to the school district, and also one board members clear provocation to sidestep the mandate by taking advantage of the 504 disability benefits granted to students in need.
Falsifying a disability to get around having your precious child wear a mask is nothing short of reprehensible, and this is something that should outrage each and every single parent in the district especially the ones who’ve fought long and hard to get their children those same benefits which they truly need. Clearly, this board membership needs to be changed. We must elect sane members who base their decisions on science, empathy, common sense, and most importantly by considering what’s in the best interests of our students and the community.
This is why I believe in the Student Safety First slate, and I strongly urge everyone to vote for all three candidates including the write-in, Meg Rosenfeld. Her experience as a paralegal and a Pennsylvania Victims Advocate as well as her background in early childhood education are all assets that the board could benefit greatly from.
She is a brilliant and strong woman who uses her voice without an ounce of fear to speak out against the crowd to stand up for what’s right. She is a mother of four children, two of which are currently homeschooling due to the Covid surge and their ineligibility to be vaccinated. She is honest, has integrity, and would be an amazing representative in our district.
Write-in Meg Rosenfeld and support Student Safety First.
