To the editor: We would like to publicly acknowledge all who contributed to making Survivors’ Resources’ 8th Annual Behind Closed Doors House Tour, held September 17, such a resounding success: • The six generous homeowners made this major Survivors’ Resources fundraising event possible by graciously opening the doors of their unique homes to more than 200 “guests.” • Our corporate and private sponsors: Century 21/Roy B. Hull Realty and Ellen Silverstone, Davis R. Chant and Audrey Lanham of Chant Realtors, Sussex Honda, Newton Motor Sports, Joseph and Ronnie Biondo, Betty and Bill Hague, Robert and Amy Litzenberger, Doris and Jim Mooney and Richard L. Snyder for their substantial monetary support and community partnership. We would also like to thank Weinstein, Schneider, Kannebecker & Lokuta Law Offices for generously underwriting printing costs. • The invaluable assistance and expertise of Jim Levell of Coldstream Graphics, Fran Wood of Patina Antiques and Interior Design, Root Candle Company and Milford Print Shop again proved priceless. Additionally, Bodies in Balance, Nellie’s Naturals, Patina and the staff of Survivors’ Resources contributed significantly by selling tickets and promoting the event. • Dozens of volunteers served as guides in the homes, helped with ticket sales and publicity and gave unselfishly of their time and talents in numerous ways. We would like to thank especially the House Tour Committee, Peggy Emanuel, Betty Hague, Judy Reilly, Pat Kett, Doris Mooney, Luisa Weinstein, and Joyce Helms. • Finally, a fervent thank you to all who bought the tickets and enjoyed the self-guided house tour through Milford’s beautiful homes thereby helping Survivors’ Resources make all homes a safe place to be. Survivors’ Resources is an organization that assists men, women and children involved in domestic abuse or sexual assault. They offer a 24-hour hotline 570-296-HELP, and free counseling services to those in need, and a safe house for those who need immediate shelter from the violence. Many government resources have been reduced or cut completely making these types of fundraising events essential in order to continue this essential service. Thank you all for the privilege of working with Survivors’ Resources to serve our clients and community. Kathe Brannon Bertrande MacLeod Behind Closed Doors Chairpersons Milford
