Thank you
I am writing to you in a quiet moment as I reflect on this past year and all of the blessings that I have had by being part of this agency and the life I share with our community. I have thought about every fundraiser from the Rubik’s Cube Competition to every community outreach endeavor to include our Gift of Giving program. As many of you know, the Gift of Giving program is held close to my heart. The Gift of Giving stands out for me mostly because of the mass in size of the project with almost 500 names on trees this year. However, it also stands out because of the volume of compassion and love that is poured into making a child feel important and valued as a child during the holiday season. Even I can get caught up in “life” and go about my work like any other human being. However, its times like these when we get a reality check of the very basic. A gift, a simple gift, for someone to know that there is spirit, that there are people in this world that care about them, even if they never met them. I thank each any every one of you for being a part of the Gift of Giving project and every other project that we do in our community to raise awareness. Equally important is to raise funds, funds that generate the opportunity to keep raising the awareness. I thank you for your support, your encouragement, and your hearts. I want to wish you all a Happy New Year. As we move into 2010, I challenge you to keep the agency close to your hearts. Every person does deserve to live a life without violence, without the torment, and without fear. It is our responsibility as living, breathing creatures to care for one another. We all have the ability in various capacities to provide hope, security, empowerment, and love. I look forward continuing the work that we do here at the agency. I am also blessed in the pure fact that I work with some of the most amazing individuals, led by a remarkable woman! I have an opportunity every day to interact with such a wonderful community and dedicated volunteers. I appreciate all of you in my life. Sheila Korick, Safe Haven Milford
