MILFORD — A new king has taken up residence in Milford. Long referred to as “the King of Instruments,” a pipe organ is one of the oldest and most versatile of musical instruments with the range and depth of an orchestra. The Church of the Good Shepherd and Saint John has been blessed with a new hand made Schantz Pipe Organ. Designed specifically for the church, the organ fills the sanctuary with a “joyful noise.” The public can experience the brand new Schantz Organ and the joyful noise it makes when Kindred Spirits Arts Programs presents a concert Saturday July 19, at 7 p.m. featuring works by Bach, Handel. Telemann and Mozart. At the organ will be reknown organist Paolo Bordignon, Associate Director of Music at Saint Bartholomew’s Church in New York City. He will be joined by violinist Airi Yoshioka for a program that will speak of the grand, the sublime ,and the divine. The concert, which is made possible by the support of David Lender will be a unique experience in a beautiful space. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children under the age of 12 and are available at Born To Be, at Broad and Harford streets in Milford. Call 570-296-4299 to buy tickets with your credit card.
