Third Annual ‘Champagne Bubble Bash’ MILFORD - The most celebratory of fine wines will be toasted in Milford as the Laurel Villa Country Inn & Restaurant hosts its third annual “Champagne Bubble Bash”, a tasting of five imported and domestic sparkling wines, on Friday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 p.m. “This is a chance to try out some wonderful sparkling wines in advance of the holidays”, said Janice Halsted, Innkeeper at the Laurel Villa. “They’re great for gatherings, or to surprise your special someone with something new and exciting.” Included in the evening will be two Italian selections from Mionetto - il Prosecco (winner of an 88 score from Wine Enthusiast) and il Rose. Also featured will be Piper Sonoma Blanc de Noir, Piper Heidsieck Cuvee Brut (a 91 score from Wine Spectator), and Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve. Each will be presented and discussed by Tom Rogari of Bartolomeo Pio Wines and Spirits. “This has become one of our most popular events,” said Halsted. “It’s totally casual, so guests can relax after their work week as they learn about and enjoy these fine sparkling wines.” Laurel Villa’s Chef Carl will create a selection of hot hors d’oeuvres to accompany each sparkling wine, and guests who choose to stay for dinner will receive 15% off their entree. “We’ve already had office groups call to book the event together,” says Halsted. “It’s a great way to warm up a cold winter night.” Seating for the “Champagne Bubble Bash” is limited and reservations, at $30 per person, should be made by Sunday, November 5.
