Annual Ritz night literacy fundraiser HAWLEY On Oct. 2, the play, “Suitehearts” will be presented at the Ritz Theater in Hawley Fifty percent of ticket sales from this performance only will benefit the Wayne Pike Adult Literacy Program. Showtime will be 8 p.m. and tickets are $12 per ticket. “Suitehearts” is a romantic comedy which promises to be zany and consistently fast moving. Filled with gags and one liners, this play broke the house records at New Jersey’s Dam Site Dinner Theatre. There will be a free “buffet reception,” finger foods prepared and hosted by the Wayne Pike Adult Literacy volunteer tutors and board members. To purchase tickets in advance, call 570-253-3221. Humane society tricky tray WESTFALL Join the volunteers of the Pike County Humane Society on Saturday Oct. 2 at the Delaware Valley Middle School for their almost world-famous Tricky Tray. They will have 200 trays of new prizes, all worth $50 or more.and will also draw our cash raffle with three winners. Doors open 2 p.m. Calling starts at 4 p.m. The school is located on US routes 6/209 near Milford. Paul West Trio at Tusten Theatre NARROWSBURG, N.Y. The Paul West Trio opens the Tusten Theatre fall season in Narrowsburg, N.Y., on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. Bassist Paul West will share the stage with pianist Richard Wyands and drummer Steve Johns to play the works of Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, and Duke Elington in a concert that will thrill acoustic music lovers. Leo’s fundraiser in October MILFORD The Delaware Valley Leo club will be holding their first fundraiser at the Milford Lions Club annual Fall Craft Show on Sat., Oct. 9 and 10, at the Ann Street Park in Milford. They will be selling homemade candy/caramel apples, cotton candy and will be having a pumpkin patch where kids of all ages can pick their pumpkin and then decorate them. Money raised will go towards food baskets for needy families in the Milford/Matamoras community and their scholoarship fund for DV Seniors. Please come out and show your support to the Leos. PumpkinFest coming up BARRYVILLE, N.Y. The eighth annual Barryville PumpkinFest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9, (Columbus Day Weekend) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the historic Springhouse Commons in Barryville, N.Y.
