Celtic festival at Fernwood BUSHKILL — Fernwood Hotel and Resort is hosting the Shawnee Celtic Festival on May 29-30 with two days of music, dance, crafts, and food as the Scottish, Irish and Welsh return to Shawnee Mountain Ski Area in the Poconos. The festival promises two full days of the sights and sounds of the Emerald Isles and Scottish Highlands. Non-stop Celtic music, with nine bands, will be featured on three stages. The weekend kicks off with a Bagpipers Parade and Fiddlers Jam. Additional entertainment includes Scottish and Irish dancers, working sheep dogs, a Celtic Wizard and Scottish Juggler. There’ll also be a variety of Irish and Scottish craft and gift vendors, Celtic food vendors, a wine tent and beverage stations. Fernwood is located on US Route 209 in Bushkill National Trails Day at Cliff Park MILFORD — On Saturday, June 5, at 10 a.m., there will be a dedication ceremony at the newly designated Cliff Park Trails System. Guided hikes along the trails to the cliffs, Hackers Falls and Milford Knob will be provided following the dedication. The National Park Service acquired the system of trails in 2003 along with the Cliff Park Inn & Golf Course property. For over 100 years visitors have used these trails to get unique views of the area from several outlooks along the cliffs. The park staff has been working for several years to identify these trails again. The Cliff Park system includes approximately 10 miles from three trailheads.
