All welcome to share Thanksgiving dinner

— Continuing an annual tradition, a free community Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings will be held in Milford, Pa., on Thursday, Nov. 24, for those who cannot be with their families or who are in need.
The meal is prepared at the First Presbyterian Church on Broad and Ann Streets in Milford and is served at noon.
The day starts at 9 a.m. for the volunteers who cook the food, since they first pack up and deliver turkey dinners and lots of extras to many people in meals on wheels programs or to anyone who finds it difficult to come out.
This program is made possible through the efforts of many people: Local businesses make donations to buy the food, the church provides its ample kitchen and hall, and Boy Scouts from local troops help with set up and delivery. Many people will bake a pie or cake or cookies to donate for dessert. And area volunteers cook and serve the food in a pleasant family atmosphere.
It is a yearly tradition for many, who will often join their own families for Thanksgiving dinner later.
If you know anyone who would like a meal delivered, or for more information, call Steve Davis at 570-228-7699.
The church number for calls on Thursday morning is 570-296-4711. Some transportation can be provided.
All are invited to share in food and fellowship, and volunteers are always welcome.
