Artery Gallery features three artists
Milford - The Artery Gallery will be featuring three artists with a show beginning July 6 through Aug. 6. There will be a reception on Saturday, July 8 from 2 to 5 p.m., when gallery artists will be present. The public is invited to attend. Featured artist Carolyn Baum is a prominent artist in her field of glass jewelry. She heats glass over a torch, wrapping the molten glass on a steel mandrel in multiple layers, creating miniature works of art. Her work was recently featured in two articles in Lapidary Journal. Peter Koenig, a veteran gallery member, will be showing abstract multi-media paintings. His work reveals his interest in textural surface qualities and precise drawing rendered in brilliantly aggressive color. James Kennedy is a new member of the gallery. His oil paintings are abstract renditions based on natural forms employing strong color and textural contrast. His ink drawings of recognizable forms are surrealistic in their intricacy and detail. Mr. Kennedy is also an actor and travels widely in his dual professions. The Artery is a co-operative gallery of 22 members. The remaining artists will also have new works on display. The gallery is located in the Forest Hall Building at the stoplight in Milford. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Mondays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For further information call 570-409-1234.
