MILFORD — On Sunday, Sept. 16, Safe Haven of Pike County, formerly Survivors’ Resources, will conduct the annual Behind Closed Doors House Tour. The tour, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., has always been successful thanks to its many supporters, but especially thanks to local homeowners who graciously open their beautiful and unique homes to the public. The co-chairs for the event this year are Ellen Silverstone, Kathe Brannon, Ed Raarup and Debra Stevens. “We hope to raise even more donations this year for this great cause by the addition of a basket raffle at each of the featured homes,” said Ed Raarup. There will be a basket of exquisite items at each home and supporters may buy raffle tickets when they purchase their tour ticket or at any of the homes on the day of the tour. Raffle tickets will be $10 each or three for $25. The winners of the baskets will be announced at an after-event reception to be held at Safe Haven, Inc., 500 West Harford St., Milford. Safe Haven works tirelessly to provide a free twenty-four hour hot line and free in-person counseling for individuals dealing with issues of domestic abuse and sexual assault. They assist men, women and children dealing with the problems of emotional, mental and physical violence. Safe Haven provides education programs for the community and schools to enhance our understanding of these problems, which continue to exist in our community. They can be reached at 570-296-HELP. Tax deductible tickets are $25. Please call Safe Haven at 570-296-2827 or send a check to Safe Haven of Pike County at 500 West Harford Street, Milford PA 18337. Tickets will also be available in Milford at Bodies in Balance, U.S. Route 6/209 and Patina Interiors at 320 Broad Street. They will still be on sale on the day of the tour, Sept. 16, in front of the Pike County Library on Broad Street. Come out on Sept 16 and enjoy the tour of these beautiful homes while helping an extremely worthwhile cause.
