Aid Ray Montevechi at the Side Street Tavern DINGMANS FERRY - On Saturday, Apr. 22, Side Street Tavern in Dingmans Ferry, will host a charity Poker Run and concert to benefit local carpenter, Ray Montevechi. Ray suffered a severe head injury and is unable to keep up with his mounting bills and expenses. Family, friends and total strangers are invited to show their support and participate in this special event. The day begins with a motorcycle run through Pike County. Sign-ups are from 9 to 11 a.m. and the fee is $20 for drivers and $15 for passengers. The ride ends at Side Street Tavern where for $15 non-poker run participants are welcome to join the riders. A party and concert featuring Big Boss Sausage, Brian McLoughlin Band, Billy Larsen Complex and Crosshair is planned. Taking the stage at 1 p.m. will be Rockland County’s own Crosshair. This rattlesnake rock & roll band is guaranteed to kick things off right with a southern fried powerhouse bang. The Billy Larsen Complex will follow with their quirky homespun acoustic space freaking. The boys from Dingmans Ferry will play songs off their debut CD and songs from deep in the cosmic mind of all of us. Pennsylvania’s favorite Brian McLoughlin Band has been sending shockwaves throughout the tri-state region. Their fun, riveting performances and well crafted tunes continue to fuel their ever expanding popularity and fan base. “If you haven’t seen them you’re glib,” claims Mingo Lodge, fan and guitar player for the Big Boss Sausage. Big Boss Sausage will be winding up the day with their energized, action packed style of folk rock. Their compelling music and road dog touring has landed them countless shows and amazed fans from Canada to Key West. Their second CD is set for a spring release and critics are already heralding it as a musical triumph. “We want to hit this town like a mighty Delaware ice flow. Lets help and make a difference in someone’s life,” added Mingo. A barbecue, food and non-alcoholic beverages will be included in the price. Other beverages can be purchased in the tavern. Prizes, giveaways and plenty of fun activities are planned. All proceeds go to benefit the Ray Montevechi Fund. Montevechi is a father of five and uninsured.
