Book and bake sale at American Legion

    MILFORD — The next book sale sponsored by the Friends of Pike County Public Library will be held on Saturday Sept. 13 & 14 at the American Legion on state Route 2001, (Water Street). The sale hours are: Saturday, 8 - 9 a.m., private preview, $10 admission charge; Saturday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., free admission; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., free admission. Plenty of free parking is provided. Bake sale chairperson Mary Quilici can be reached at 570-296-7841. Contact her if you can bring donations of baked goods. If you wish to volunteer to assist for the book sale, contact Chairperson Ken Corcoran at 570-409-9089. The semi-annual book sale is a major fund raiser for the library. At the last sale in May we made more than $5,300. Patronizing the book sale is one way to help your local Library. Prepare to be amazed at the quality and quantity of the books offered at the fall sale. They offer fiction, non-fiction, in both paperback and hard cover. They have books-on-tape, videos, CD’s. and DVD’s. Browse a huge selection of kid’s books priced from a quarter to a dollar. They offer romances, westerns, biographies and a selection of science fiction. For the culinary experts, you’ll find a selection of cookbooks of every type. We have many “how-to” books for the craft enthusiasts. Browse the tables for foreign languages, humor, spirituality, and classic fiction. Check out our nice selection of jigsaw puzzles for long autumn nights! Our books are so reasonably priced that you can take home a bagful for your reading pleasure! Hardcover books are $1, paperbacks 50 cents. Yes, that’s the price. The Legion Auxiliary will be selling chrysanthemums the same weekend.
