Born of fire Hawaii

MILFORD Featured this month at the Highlands Photo Gallery will be the work of the gallery’s newest member, Bill Jagde from Chester, N.Y. From volcanic beginnings to the lush tropical rainforests of today, Hawaii draws tourists by the millions. While people enjoy the beaches and sites, the island building process goes on in live volcanoes. On exhibit will be images made on the Big Island of Hawaii and on Maui in National Parks and on public lands. There is an opening reception on Saturday, May 9 from 6 - 9 p.m. during Art After Dark. The photographs will be on display through Sunday, May 31. The Highlands Photographic Guild at 224 Broad Street (Wachovia Bank Building) is open Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about the gallery, its members or the current exhibit can be found at www.highlandsphotoguild.com or by calling 570-296-2440 during gallery hours.
