‘Brokeback' runs in film program

NARROWSBURG - CineArt Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the Callicoon Theater continue the 2006 CineArt Season with March’s screening of “Brokeback Mountain” (R), an Academy Award nominatee for Best Picture of the Year, among other categories. The film is a love story set against the sweeping vistas of Wyoming and Texas, Brokeback Mountain tells the story of two young men - a ranch-hand and a rodeo cowboy - who meet in the summer of 1963, and unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection, one whose complications, joys and tragedies provide a testament to the endurance and power of love. Directed by Ang Lee with a Larry McMurtry screenplay adapted from an Annie Proulx short story, the film stars Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, with Randy Quaid, Anne Hathaway and Michelle Williams among the supporting cast. Screenings will be Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, March 1, 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, March 4 and 5, at 2 & 7:30 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday, March 6 and 7 at 7:30 p.m., at the Callicoon Theatre, Callicoon, N.Y.
